Getting Started: Desktop and file management
This course is for those who are new to using the Microsoft Windows operating system and want to feel confident in finding their way around. It is ideal if you have little or no experience of using a pc.
On completion of the course, you will be able to:
- Start up the computer
- Use the keyboard and mouse
- Organise the on -screen desktop
- Change the appearance of the desktop
- Understand how the filing system works
- Save, delete, move and copy files
- Use a printer
- Shut down the computer safely
Word for beginners
This course is for those who have no previous experience of this word processing package and is an ideal way to get started quickly.
On completion of this course, you will be able to:
- Create a range of simple documents using the Microsoft Word package, including letters, notices, reports and essays
- Use formatting to modify the appearance of your document (eg font, colour, layout)
- Insert tables and alter their appearance
- Use certain proof-reading tools to help check the accuracy of your work
- Save and print your documents.
Word for improvers
This course is for those who have some experience of Word and would like to build on their knowledge by using some of the more advanced features of the package.
